Coleto Creek Amateur Radio Club Meeting Minutes August 2, 2018 Attending: Jimmy Podsim - KD5QHH, Luci Podsim - KD5RIF, Dave Dodge - NV5C, Harvey Babb - WB5MCT and Brian Haun - KG5AUZ Meeting called to order @ 7:35 pm. Previous meeting minutes read. Dave moved to accept as read, second by Jimmy, motion passed. Treasurer’s Report - After buying tags for ET, our new balance is $154.00. Luci moved to accept, second by Brian, motion passed. Public Relations - The Yorktown newspaper had a nice article on Field Day written by Roger Cowan. Points of Interest - The Austin Hamfest, aka Summerfest, will be August 3 and 4. The South Texas Hamfest has some good posts on Facebook about their hamfest. ARES has a meeting during the Houston Hamfest. They seem to be involving hams more than they have in the past. Old Business - Battery Charger: We made tentative plans to meet on the 18th around 10am to hook up the charger and battery. Field Day: We went through the assortment of stuff in ET and made decisions on what to do with each item. Several pieces had bad displays, were beyond repair or obsolete and the club decided to dispose of these items; specifically the Alinco radio, the scanner, the computer speakers, the Radio Shack speaker, the Midland Radio and the radio cassette player. It was decided that the Kenwood TK840 would be useful as a link radio and the Wilson WH2510 VHF 25 watt radio, which is front panel programable, was kept for a packet radio. We also gave Otto permission to get what is needed to fix the generator. ET: The Emergency Trailer is now being stored at the Podsim residence. Dave has strongly suggested that the trailer be gone over with a fine toothed comb and all rotten wood be identified and replaced. New Business - Repeater Coordination: Jimmy asked if the website would let us know when it is time to renew. Harvey said that they should but their track record has not been great lately and suggested that we put it on our calendar. We will go to www.txvhffm.org when it is time to renew.
