Coleto Creek Amateur Radio Club Meeting Minutes Sept 5, 2019 Attending: Jimmy Podsim - KD5QHH, Luci Podsim - KD5RIF, Bryan Haun - KG5AUZ, Bryan Friedrichs - KG5QWF, Hurshel Pruitt - WB5MEX, Otto Bluntzer - WB2RJB, Dave Dodge - NV5C, John Greene - KD5UKE and Harvey Babb - WB5MCT Meeting called to order at 7:30 pm. Previous meeting minutes read. Otto moved to accept as read, second by Bryan Haun. Motion Passed Treasurer’s Report - No change, $307.05. Jimmy moved to accept, second by Harvey. Motion passed. Public Relations - Nothing to report. Points of Interest - Route 66 On The Air starts Sept 2 and runs through Sept 15. Visit w6jbt.org for more information. Texas QSL Party will be Sept 14 & 15. This is a permanent change to the second weekend of September from the last weekend. The FCC granted a temporary waiver for Packet Tor4 (High Speed Communications Protocol) which had been recently outlawed because it breaks rules in amateur communications. The waiver was granted for communications during Hurricane Dorian because it is fast enough for e-mail and fax documents. Old business - Moving the repeater: Bryan Haun got the information required submitted but has not heard anything back yet. Officers: Nominations are next month. The club members need to think about who can be the new secretary. New Business - Emergency Communications: Bryan Friedrichs has been in contact with Sara with the South Texas Regional Action Committee. There is a need to drill communications systems and she wants to present to local hams about doing this. The club appointed a committee of Dave, Harvey and Bryan Friedrichs to explore this further.
