Meeting Minutes

January 2, 2020

Attending: Jimmy Podsim - KD5QHH, Luci Podsim - KD5RIF, Harvey Babb - WB5MCT, Bryan Haun - KG5AUZ, Hurshel Pruitt - WB5MEX

Meeting called to order at 7:30 pm. Previous11-7-19 meeting minutes read. Jimmy moved to accept as read, second by Harvey. Motion passed.

Treasurer’s Report: Tabled, Dave was absent.

Public Relations: Nothing to report

Points of Interest: Jimmy noted that the Hamfest in Shertz (Fiesta) will be January 10, 2020. Hurshel noted that Winter Field Day will be January 25-26. Harvey noted that Family Outdoor Expo should be February 1 but has not heard much about it. Will mention it on next net. Harvey also stated that he will bring a service monitor to the next Victoria meeting to test Baofeng radios – good article in QST about that this month.

Old Business: Bryan H. gave an update on moving repeater to new SO tower by scenic overlook. Tower is built but all antennas are still on old one. No further updates from Johnny Jank at Golden Crescent Communications. Cindy has EOC funds available for the antenna, coax, and probably installation. Bryan has a meeting with the Sheriff on January 15 and should learn more about the project.

It was noted that the club repeater is not in the ARRL database again. License was last renewed in 2016 and will not expire until 2025.

New Business: Harvey said that he would likely host the Winter Field Day event on January 25-26 at the Busy Bee but will discuss this further at the Victoria meeting and on the net.

Annual dues are now payable. All present paid.

Jimmy moved to adjourn, second by Lucy. Motion passed. Meeting adjourned at 8:10 pm.
