January Meeting Minutes

Coleto Creek Amateur Radio Club January 7, 2016 Meeting Minutes Attending: Jimmy Podsim - KD5QHH, Luci Podsim - KD5RIF, Otto Bluntzer - WB5RJB, Dave Dodge - NV5C, Hurshel Pruitt - WB5MEX and Brian Haun - KG5AUZ. Guest Mayo Vela Metting was called to order at 7:30 pm. Minutes from the previous meeting were read. Brian moved to accept the minutes as read, second by Otto, motion passed. Treasurer’s report: After reimbursing Harvey for paying for the website’s yearly fee and then collecting dues, we have $250.76 in the bank and $6 cash for a total of $256.76. Jimmy moved to accept the report, second by Luci, motion passed. Public Relations: Jimmy updated the calendar on Facebook marking all of the known club activities for 2016. Points of Interest: The San Antonio Hamfest will be January 9 in Shertz. The Family Outdoor Expo will be held in February and those wishing to help out need to log into the website and sign up very soon to give time for the background check to pass. Show & Tell: Hurshel brought the certificate he earned for making contact with all of the contact points along Route 66 On The Air. It is a very handsome certificate. Old Business ET: Otto reports that there are still no leaks from the recent rains. He has not made any progress on the lights as yet. He also said that he has the necessary materials and skills to make a gas tank for the generator. Dave says that he has a generator he can loan in the event we are called to an emergency before we can fix the club generator. Radio for ET: Hurshel has possession of the new radio but has not had the time to program it as of this date. Christmas Party: Dave reported that a good time was had by all that attended. New Business: ARRL needs to be updated in order to maintain our affiliate status. Hurshel will look into taking care of that. Jimmy moved to adjourn, Otto second.
