Previous meeting minutes read. Jimmy moved to accept as read, second by Otto, motion passed. Treasurer’s Report: We have $190.01 in the bank and $20 cash for a total of $210.91. Luci moved to accept, second by Otto, motion passed. Public Relations: Nothing to report. Points of Interest: We got a letter from a from a geocaching group with a weather link to add to our page and thanking us for having such a useful site. Austin Hamfest is this coming weekend. There will be a total eclipse on August 21. There is a planned QSL party for the event. The memorial service for Paul Hereford will be this coming Saturday at 1:00 at the Grace Funeral Home in Victoria. The Hereford family is having an estate sale on Friday, Aug 4. There is lots of radio and electronic stuff. Old Business: E.T.: We still need to get the new plates for the trailer. Dave took the computer out of E.T. and it would not work. He tried a new battery and discovered that the problem was the power cord. Hurshel said that he will supply a new power cord. Otto moved to reimburse Dave for the battery, second by Jimmy. Motion passed. Dave has recently put in some work on E.T., paying out of pocket for materials. He removed the tin and replaced a lot of rotten wood, then replaced the tin. Luci moved to reimburse Dave in the amount of $50, second by Jimmy, motion passed. Field Day: Local hams gathered at the Busy Bee on Field Day. As the heavens opened for some much needed rain, stimulating conversation was enjoyed. Once the rain stopped, radios were tested and more stimulating conversation ensued. Great fun was had by all. Water Safari: The Google Sheets spreadsheet was used for the first time for the majority of the race. It worked very well and will be a major tool for future Safaris. EAS Radios: Hurshel has picked these up and transported them to Jimmy’s shed for storage until we can decide how to use them. Antenna Trailer: Discussion revolved around the question of whether or not we want to continue to put club resources into the antenna trailer. Dave pointed out the fact the he is the only club member with the capability to pull a trailer of any kind. It seems that the Victoria club has a similar problem. Otto estimates that it would cost the club up to $200 to complete work on the trailer. Otto will develop a plan to present so we will have a clearer idea of exactly what would be involved and whether or not we want to do the work or abandon the project. New Business: Due to the constant issue with finding someone to unlock the church, a discussion was held on whether we might want to try to find a different meeting place. Jimmy will look into possibilities and report at the next meeting. Luci moved to adjourn, second by Jimmy. Motion passed and meeting adjourned at 8:40 pm. Submitted by Luci Podsim, Secretary
