This is the 19th year that this has been presented. There are 21 stations scattered between California and Chicago bearing special event call signs W6A through W6U. For more information visit www.w6jbt.org. The Texas QSL Party will be on September 29 and 30. The object of the event is to make a contact in each of the 254 counties in Texas. Jimmy was contacted by COCORAS. They are looking for volunteers to report weather conditions across the country. They are looking for a leader in Goliad county and need more people in DeWitt County. Old Business: 501c status: Brian looked into obtaining 501c status as a non-profit organization. The application fee is $600.00. General agreement that it is not worth the money and effort to obtain this status. Battery Charger and Repeater: Members of the club met on the 18th and hooked up the battery charger and EchoLink. Harvey s looking into getting the laptop out of the repeater hut and replacing it with a Raspberry Pi. Repeater Coordination: Jimmy and Luci looked into the situation and discovered that it had been done on May 12, 2018. The information about when it should be due was not found so it was decided by general agreement that it should be done in April or May of each year. It was suggested that members set a reminder on their calendars. New Business: Website: Wix has changed its prices, they now charge $60.00 per year. Jimmy checked into switching to GVEC for our website and found that it would cost $30.00 per month. After some discussion of whether or not we really need a website, Brian made a motion that we cease payment on the domain name and Wix, reverting to the free version of our current website. Jimmy seconded the motion, motion passed. Testing: Hurshel has a few people interested in testing to become amateur radio operators. Harvey said to give a few days notice and we can set something up. Elections: Officer nominations will be due at the next meeting. All members were urged to think about it. Generator and Antenna Trailer: Otto has the generator fixed and just needs to stress test it. It now has two tanks that are easy to change out. The antenna trailer works. It takes about fifteen minutes to set up. It just needs a weight ticket and license plate. Dave will look into how to obtain these. Dave moved to adjourn, Jimmy second. Motion passed and meeting adjourned at 8:45 pm. Submitted by Luci Podsim, Secretary
