Meeting Minutes

August 4, 2022


The meeting was held at TrustTexas Bank Community Room in Yorktown.


Attending: Hurshel Pruitt - WB5MEX, Bryan Haun – KG5AUZ, Jimmy Podsim – KD5QHH, Luci Podsim – KD5RIF, Otto Bluntzer – WB2RJB, Harvey Babb – WB5MCT, and David Dodge – NV5C. Attending as guest was Garry Garnett – WT0B from Victoria.


Meeting called to order at 7:30 pm by Hurshel. Previous 5-5-22 meeting minutes were read by Bryan Haun. There were no meetings in June or July. Jimmy moved and Otto seconded for their approval. Motion carried.


Treasurer’s Report: Dave reported a balance of $507.05 and no transactions.


Public Relations: Jimmy reported that a potential applicant contacted him by email about testing.


Points of Interest: Otto reported that a recent windstorm did a lot of damage at his place and damaged some of his antennas. Jimmy reported that the 32 Davy repeater is not working.


Old Business:

Water Safari – Harvey reported that it was a very tough race and we barely had enough operators this year.

Field Day – Harvey reported it was held in Mission Valley at Darell Klimitchek’s place. We had 4 club members present and 2 ARRL representatives.

Repeater Move - Bryan reported that he talked to Johnnie Jank and he said that the county may do some work on their tower and may be able to include us in.

VHF Society coordination – no luck yet.


New Business:

Harvey reported that our domain name will expire in 3 days. Bryan made a motion to allow him to spend up to $60 to either renew or move our domain. Motion passed.


Jamie Fenner from Kennedy came to test after the meeting. He passed both Technician and General.


Harvey moved to adjourn, second by Luci. Motion passed. Meeting adjourned at 7:50 pm.
