Meeting Minutes

February 2, 2023

The meeting was held at TrustTexas Bank Community Room in Yorktown.

Attending: Hurshel Pruitt - WB5MEX, Jimmy Podsim – KD5QHH, Luci Podsim – KD5RIF, Bryan Haun – KG5AUZ, and Harvey Babb – WB5MCT. Harvey had Brad Howard, N5LZY as a guest.

Meeting called to order at 7:31 pm by Hurshel. Previous 1-5-23 meeting minutes were read by Bryan. Jimmy moved and Harvey seconded for their approval. Motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report: None as Dave was absent. Luci paid $20 in dues to Bryan to give to Dave.

Public Relations: Jimmy noted that Facebook and web page are being kept up to date.

Points of Interest: Greater Houston Hamfest in Rosenberg on March 3 and 4.

Old Business:

Harvey reported on Winter Field Day last weekend. It was cold and wet. We operated two stations and made contacts on 10, 20, 40, 80 meters with Harvey and Hurshel as primary operators. Club folded dipole antenna worked well. Do not have final count of stations worked yet.

Bryan reported that we are still waiting to find someone to install the antenna on the tower. The county is anticipating doing some work at the site and is supposed to include our installation with that work. Bryan talked with the sheriff and was told to get with the chief jailer to arrange a visit. He will also use his drone to get a view of the top of the tower.

New Business: None.

Luci moved to adjourn, second by Harvey. Motion passed. Meeting adjourned at 8:04 pm.
