Coleto Creek Amateur Radio Club Meeting Minutes May 2, 2019 Attend: Jimmy Podsim - KD5QHH, Luci Podsim - KD5RIF, Hurshel Pruitt - WB5MEX, Otto Bluntzer - WB2RJB, Harvey Babb - WB5MCT, Dave Dodge - NV5C. Meeting called to order at 7:30 pm. Previous meeting minutes read. Harvey moved to accept as read, second by Jimmy, motion passed. Treasurer’s report: We have $147.05 in the bank and $135 in cash for a total of $282.05. Jimmy moved to accept, second by Luci, motion passed. Public relations: Nothing to report Points of interest: Jimmy heard on the 7.290 Traffic Net that reservations for their annual picnic were about to close. If one plans to attend they should schedule soon. Jimmy has started calling the Texas Traffic Net on 3.873 Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. Old Business: VARC Update: Harvey built a new repeater currently on the .190 and installed in the Sheriff’s Office. The club plans to retrieve the .13 machine and see if it still works. A photo survey of the hospital antenna site shows that the gel coat is bad and recommends replacing the antenna and feed line as soon as such can be coordinated. Field Day: No one has made any plans for the event. It will be discussed and finalized on next week’s net. Water Safari: All sites are covered. We will probably not use packet. E. T.: Otto went to the place that makes canvas covers. It could cost as much as $250.00. He recommended buying a large tarp to cover the trailer. He also stated that he has an old swimming pool cover that might be used. Otto moved to adjourn, Jimmy second. Motion passed and meeting adjourned at 8:15 pm. Submitted by Luci Podsim, Secretary.
