Meeting Minutes

January 5, 2023

The meeting was held at TrustTexas Bank Community Room in Yorktown.

Attending: Hurshel Pruitt - WB5MEX, Dave Dodge – NV5C, Otto Bluntzer – WB2RJB, Bryan Haun – KG5AUZ, and Harvey Babb – WB5MCT. Harvey had Brad Howard, N5LZY as a guest.

Meeting called to order at 7:30 pm by Hurshel. Previous 11-4-22 meeting minutes were read by Bryan. Dave moved and Harvey seconded for their approval. Motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report: Dave reported no account activity since May and our current balance is $507.05 plus $20 that he received for dues. Otto, Hurshel, Bryan, and Harvey each paid $20 for dues.

Public Relations: None

Points of Interest: Winter Field Day January 28 and 29. K3Y CW club anniversary this month and will be holding an event with operators in all 10 districts and territories. ARRL centennial is this year. Harvey reported that VECs received notice of new online testing format and he will be gathering more information about that.

Old Business:

Bryan reported that we are still waiting to find someone to install the antenna on the tower. The county is anticipating doing some work at the site and is supposed to include our installation with that work. Bryan mentioned that he heard someone on the Edna repeater that worked as a tower climber. Harvey was going to check on that.

New Business: Otto said he would bring plates, utensils, and paper towels for the upcoming meeting meals. Harvey volunteered to host Winter Field Day at the Busy Bee (5859 Cattleguard Rd, Yoakum). Bring radios and antennas. Hurshel will bring a radio and antenna from ET. Otto will bring the club generator.

Dave moved to adjourn, second by Harvey. Motion passed. Meeting adjourned at 8:24 pm.
